Trip Schedule to Japan and Exhibit:
Planning is underway, here and in Japan for Wisconsin artists and art to travel to Japan in summer 2008. A mass mailing went out in May 2007 to all WP&S members with information about how to
participate and to send in the application form. Communication is underway between Japan and the WP&S State Board with more specfics availiable in early fall to those who sent in their application.
WP&S artists/guests will stay at hosts houses except for two nights where all will stay at the
Fujinomachi Art Center for one-on-one exchanges if art, ideas and culture.
July 14: View work at Saitama Museum
July 15: Guests arrive and stay with hosts
July 16: All participants meet at museum and confirm their work and then go to overnight at Fujinomachi Art Center. The Art Center is two hours from the Saitama Museum to by car and we will charter a bus. There will be an evening welcome party at the art center.
July 17: Stay at art center, workshop, sightseeing, BBQ
July 18: Back to Tokyo and Saitama
July 19: Demo by guest artists in museum in the afternoon
July 20: Demo by guest artists in museum. Reception at 16:00 at Saitama Museum
July 21: Free day - stay with host. Optional studio visit
July 22: Free day. Optional studio visit, museums, etc.
July 23: Wisconsin guests leave Japan.
The participation fee includes the two-night stay at Fujinomachi Art Center, reception, transportation, publicity, etc. Participation fee: $250 per artist who goes to Japan; $150 per artist who sends work but doesn’t go to Japan; $120 family member. The participation requests were due in June 2007. Participants will arrange for their own travel arrangements from Wisconsin to Japan. If guest artists want to visit local artists in Nagano, Yamagata, Sendi and Kouchi Michiko will arrange it.
