Tangible things represented eloquently

Representational painting is how I prefer to connect to my viewer. My paintings are views of tangible things represented as eloquently as I can. If I can hit upon some common ground, I think that’s how you connect.

When I see works by some of the world’s best painters, I understand a lot more is being done than representing the subject. I don’t think it’s about painting virtuosity or how complex it is. I think it’s about an idea supported by some kind of plan. It’s necessary to know where you are going and how to get there.

I work in oils because I like its richness, depth and flexibility. The different ways you can work the paint are like different tools. Each one is available to help me get where I want to go.

Currently you can find Jeff’s artwork at M Gallery of Fine Art in Sarasota Florida, Fine Line Designs Gallery in Door County Wisconsin, Jack Richeson School of Art and Gallery, The Hang Up Gallery in Neenah Wisconsin and Coventry Glass in Appleton Wisconsin.
