Haynes Awarded Lifetime Membership

At the WVA State meeting in July, it was unanimously voted on to award a Lifetime Membership in WVA to Doug Haynes. Haynes is currently the web designer for WVA and has done so for many years. He recently updated the site to include a calendar function and most recently created an online entry system for exhibitions. He also contributed as the editor of WVA Magazine from 2003-2011, and wrote extensively about the arts for the magazine.
Doug E. L. Haynes has been a lifelong painter. He is currently creating studio works as well as painting in plein air. He is making slow progress on a mural for a Church in Madison and is hoping to publish a series of several hundred scripture illustrations. His work can be seen at www.emeraldstudio.com. The painting Vilas beach will be exhibited in the show Wisconsin en Plein Air, Sept. 4 Oct. 16, Gallery 211 at 211 N. Carroll St., Madison. This will be a group show with a many noted plein air artists from Dane County.
