The 2016 Wisconsin Artists Biennial opened at MOWA on February 6, 2016 and $5,000 in awards were given out and most of the winners were present. Congratulations to all. The Biennial is an important exhibit for WVA as the income from it is used to help maintain the WVA magazine and website for the next two years. The partnership with MOWA for the 2014 and 2016 Wisconsin Artists Biennial was a fruitful pairing for both. A 2016 Biennial 64-page, full-color book was produced and is available as a free PDF on the WVA Biennial website page or as a print-on-demand full-color softcover book from Blurb.com
for $15.59 plus shipping. Making a substantial book (catalog) of the Biennial was a high priority and encouraged by Robert Ragir, a long-time supporter of WVA.
WVA is also kicking off another $12,500 Endowment Campaign with matching funds from the Meyer and Norma Ragir Foundation. Look for more about this. WVA Endowment donations may be sent to Christine Style, 2731 Bay Settlement Road, Green Bay, WI 54311.
There will be an important WVA Planning Meeting, chaired by Virgi Driscoll in late March or early April to discuss the future of WVA and how to best use the interest generated from our Endowment. All the chapter chairs are involved in this as well as former and current WVA leaders. Look for more about this in the next magazine.
Thank you all for your involvement in WVA.
