WVA State President’s report

by Victoria (Tori) Tasch, WVA President

The State Board met on September 17 in Waupun. With the support of the Chapter Chairs we were able to vote on significant updates for our members. The Chapters voted to reduce the number of extra magazines printed, to increase the number of monthly updates via Constant Contact and to use Quicken for record keeping. In addition, we are looking at developing a Special Exhibitions Committee for the increased number of state exhibitions and exploring the possibility of an Executive Director via the Strategic Planning Committee. We are seeking a representative to help grow our endowment fund and meet our goal for the current Ragir challenge grant. Chris Style and Tori Tasch will Co-Chair the WVA Biennial 2018 with our partner the Museum of Wisconsin Art.
Please join us at our next State Board meeting hosted by the NE Chapter on January 7, 2017. The spring meeting will be hosted by the SC Chapter on April 8, 2017.
Please consider entering one of the upcoming statewide exhibitions:
We Draw and Paint will be juried by Timothy Cobb at Walker’s Point Center for the Arts, opening reception on Gallery night January 20, 2017.
Water: The Essence of Life is WVA members only invitational exhibition at the Alfons Gallery June 11-August 6, 2017
Of and About Paper will be held at UW-Parkside opening September 7. Details to follow soon.
Thank you for your support!
