WP&S Artists to Exhibit at Schauer Art Center
The show entitled, “Art/People” was currated by Tom Lidtke of the West Bend Art Museum, and Kevin Cole of the Schauer Center.
“These kinds of images have typically not been shown in our young gallery,” stated Cole. “This is also the first state-wide arts organization to show artwork here at the Schauer Center. We are pleased with the response by WP&S artists and hope this is the beginning of a long-term relationship.” Cole indicated that in addition to the small group exhibition this Fall, several other WP&S artists have been approached for possible future exhibitions.
Artists whose works will be part of “Art/People” include: Lee Grantham, David Klein, Virgi Driscoll, John Karpinski, Ginger Fredrick, and Vito Valenti.
The exhibition will run from September 9th through November 29th, 2004, with an “Artists Reception” to be held on Sunday, October 3rd from 1 to 3 pm.
The Schauer Center begins its fourth season in its new home, downtown Hartford, located 30 miles northwest of Milwaukee. In what was once a canning factory, the location is now home to a performing and cultural arts center with a comfortable and intimate state-of-the-art theater seating 575; plus art galleries, and a year-round Community School of the Arts program that offers classes for both Adults and Youth.
