Learn, Interact, and Speak out for the Arts

Arts Day 2017, will be held Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Overture Center in downtown Madison. Arts Wisconsin is leading the way to establish “Wisconsin Creates”, a new community cultural development program, to be administered by the Wisconsin Arts Board. During the important 2017-2019 state budget season, Arts Wisconsin will be advocating with the Wisconsin State Legislature to create this program as a strategy to invest in creative people, institutions, businesses, and communities throughout the state. On Arts Day and over the next few months, you can tell your stories to decision-makers, to demonstrate the power, impact, and benefits of the arts and creative development throughout Wisconsin.
In addition to speaking up for Wisconsin Creates, Arts Day is a conference full of networking, friend-making, learning, and laughing. You can join WVA president, Tori Tasch, and fellow members of WVA for this opportunity.
WVA member Aaron Wilbers, who manned the WVA table at last year’s event, had the following to say: “Even while being available to provide information about WVA, I had the chance to meet some wonderful people in the Wisconsin art scene, and to learn about art organizations and programs I was unaware of. It is also a good chance to get connected to the political side of making and supporting art in the state.”
Registration is $40 until Feb. 28,
and $45 thereafter, and will include:
• The annual Arts Day Breakfast at the
Overture Center for the Arts
• Discussions and workshops on economic, educational,
leadership, and civic issues in the arts and creativity
