WVA State Presidentâ€™s Report
Please enter the 2018 Wisconsin Artists Biennial. WVA and MOWA have partnered to offer this exhibition and $10,000 in cash awards. The exhibit at will be held at the prestigious Museum of Wisconsin Art (MOWA), West Bend, WI. It runs from Feb. 3â€“April 8, 2018. Any artist living in Wisconsin may enter, so please share the invitation.

WVA member Guntis Lauzums invited the Board to the CoPA (Coalition of Photographic Arts) meeting on May 9 to talk briefly about the Biennial and benefits of WVA membership. COPA has about 150 members ( www.copamilwaukee.com ) Thank you to President Pam Ferderbar for supporting the visual arts. If you would like a WVA representative to speak at your art group please contact me.
We have an opportunity to start a WVA Instagram account. I am working with a volunteer who is willing to commit to this project for 2 years. We would promote WVA activities and the work of WVA members.
Finally, please enter On and About Paper, a statewide exhibition exploring the potential of paper. This exhibition will be juried by Dara Larson and Max Yela. Max Yela has been selected to receive a 2017 Wisconsin Visual Art Achievement Award.

Entry is open to any original work in, on, or of paper including handmade paper, paper sculpture, origami, artistâ€™s books, cut paper, stitched paper or works on paper -- including painting, drawing and photography. All works, sculptural, decorative and functional must be original, be made primarily of paper and must have been completed in the last two years. Artists may submit up to three works for entry.
