Men Of Metal - Niemi Dual Sculpture Exhibition

This summer, consider a trip to Kenosha to see Men of Metal: A Father & Son’s Journey through the Art of Sculpture. This is a rare opportunity to see a retrospective of 49 years of Bruce A. Niemi & his Father Frank’s sculptures. “In 1968, at age twelve, my Dad taught me how to weld, and my love for sculpture began. In honor of his guidance and love, our work will be shown together in this powerful retrospective of two sculptors with similar yet very different work”.
Bruce has completed over 50 public sculptures which are located throughout the United States and Europe. The two most notable: “The Eternal Flame War Memorial” commissioned by the D.A.V. to honor veterans of all wars and conflicts is located in Worth, IL and “Remembered”, a memorial for students slain in 2008 on the campus of Northern Illinois University. Stainless steel and silicon bronze are Bruce’s primary materials of choice and he does all of his own fabrication. Using his art, he wishes to stimulate the mind of the viewer, as well as create a sculpture that harmoniously complements its environment.
Men of Metal will be hosted at the Kenosha Public Museum, 5500 1st Ave., Kenosha, WI 53140 and runs from August 26 - November 4, 2017. There will be a reception Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 1:30 - 4:00pm. You can find more information online at: www.bruceniemi.com
