New Gallery in Ripon: “Eye of the Arts”

Charis Congail and Paul Malmquist (a.k.a. Fester Akbar) will be opening their gallery in Ripon, WI, with a Halloween bang. The new “Eye of the Arts” Gallery, located in the historic downtown, will focus on contemporary art -- showcasing many artists whose work may be considered a little frightening for the usual gallery.
“We have little fear about limits here. It is our intention to create intelligent discourse through the work we will display. Since we are in a position that allows us to explore without worrying too much about generating income, we feel that we can offer a venue for shows that would otherwise have a difficult time reaching an audience.”
“Eye of the Arts” opens October 30 with an eclectic showcase of talent from the Fox Cities area. The gallery will be closed in January and February for further remodelling, and will reopen in March. The exhibits in the main gallery will change every few weeks, allowing for solo and group shows. “Eye of the Arts” also has space dedicated to the ongoing display of work by a number of area artists.
For more information, you can contact Charis at, or visit the gallery at 225 Watson Street, Ripon, WI 54971 -- Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
