August 18 - September 23, 2017
Reception Friday, August 25, 2017 5-7pm
Don MacCrimmon presents new work at the Wisconsin Regional Art Program exhibit.
Wingra Park is an intaglio - an image first acid etched and then printed on paper - in successive stages; the first stage of 'soft ground' outlines, followed by a series of 5 or 6 'spit bites'. It mirrors my plein air acyrilc painting of the boat landing near Knickerbocker place in Madison.
Physicists inform us that we see only a part of things unimaginably complex, and so I have attempted to capture some things not readily seen - making an abstraction that is coherent whether closely approached or from further away- and also hard to explain. I depend on an unseen unheard ever present other.
Gallery Hours: Tuesday - Friday: 10-5pm, Saturday: 12-4pm
