Textile artist Jean M. Judd of Cushing, Wisconsin is one of the artists selected for inclusion in the Artist as Quiltmaker XVIII in Oberlin, Ohio presented by FAVA (Firelands Association for the Visual Arts). Artwork selected for the exhibit includes: Rusted Vines and Hinges. Artist as Quiltmaker is the second-longest-running art quilt exhibition in the world.
Exhibit juror Emily Zilber, Ronald C. and Anita L. Wornick Curator of Contemporary Decorative Arts, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Massachusetts, has selected 32 artists’ work from a submission pool of over 300 entries. Ms. Zilber states: “I approached this diverse and compelling group looking for works which displayed a strong degree of excellence across three areas, in equal measure: creative composition and design, skilled handling of material, and more immaterial qualities that draw you into a compelling work of art.” The exhibit opens on May 13, 2018 and is open through July 29, 2018. The artist reception and awards presentation will be on May 12, 2018.
